Students Study Social Issues

Posted on: 10/10/2019

Today students at Redruth School had a curriculum enrichment day, allowing further insight and educational awareness of topics that included:

  • Mental health
  • Substance misuse
  • Cyber bullying and online safety
  • Climate change and the environment
  • HIV awareness
  • Resilience

Guest speakers from the Police, YZUP, the NHS and HIV Awareness delivered interesting and engaging talks to the students. They were also involved in workshops, class based activities and had the opportunity to discuss issues important to them.

Students also had the opportunity to vote in the Youth Parliament 'Make Your Mark' ballot this work, deciding on which topics they want their YMP, Jay Davies, a former student at Redruth School, to debate at the Houses of Parliament in November.
