DT (Food) Teaching Assistant/Technician

Fixed term, in the first instance, until 31 August 2023

33 hours per week, term time only (44.263 total paid weeks per year)

£18,568 - £21,905 (to be proportionately reduced for term time working)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant/Technician to join us who would welcome the opportunity to assist classroom teachers, work with small groups and support the progress of our students. The role will include providing assistance in the preparation of resources for lessons and technical support and advice to staff and students within the Design Technology (Food) Department.

Applicants will need:

· the ability to work with young people

· excellent communication skills

· self-motivation and a friendly manner

· a high standard of computer literacy and excellent organisational skills

· to be passionate about promoting learning and achievement for all

· the ability to work effectively as part of a team

· English and Mathematics GCSE grade C/4/NVQ level 2 or equivalent

£22,546 - £27,153 (this will be proportionately reduced for term time working)

We are looking for a highly organised and dedicated Attendance Officer to use and develop our registration processes to support our school Attendance Policy.  The successful applicant will lead the school in implementing structures that ensure good attendance of students and help promote positive attitudes to attendance.  The role will involve working closely with the SIMS and Pastoral teams, and also liaising with parents/carers and outside agencies.  The ability to interact professionally on a number of levels will therefore be an important aspect of the role.


Experience of working in a school environment and knowledge of SIMS would be advantageous, although full training will be given.
