Pastoral Lead

11 – 16 Co-educational Comprehensive

Required for September 2026

Pastoral Year Lead

Fixed term, in the first instance, until 31 August 2027 

37 hours per week x 46.784 total paid weeks 

£28, 572 - £33, 326 per annum  (subject to payrise)

(NB this salary will be proportionately reduced to reflect part/term time only working) 

 Redruth School is a successful school set in beautiful West Cornwall. We are looking to appoint a Pastoral Year Lead who is  passionate, adaptable and enthusiastic about working with young people within an educational setting. In this role you will take a pro-active role in the support of the educational, social and physical needs of our students, developing positive working relationships with your cohort and their families.    

Applicants will need: 

  • be qualified to ‘A’ level or equivalent 
  • have the ability to support a year team which consists of approximately 10 tutors and 300 students 
  • have experience of working with young people 
  • have experience of working with and referring to external agencies that support young people 
  • have awareness, or experience of working in a trauma informed way 
  • have excellent communication skills 
  • have self-motivation and a friendly manner 
  • have a high standard of computer literacy and excellent organisational skills 
  • to challenge and support young people to ensure they reach their potential both in terms of character and academic outcomes

30 hours per week available, term time only (44.6 total paid weeks) 

£24,219 per annum  (subject to payrise)

(NB this salary will be proportionately reduced to reflect part/term time only working) 

 Redruth School is a successful school set in beautiful West Cornwall. We are looking to appoint Teaching Assistants to take a pro-active role in the support of the educational, social and physical needs of our students.  The successful candidates will support the curriculum and the school through the provision of assistance to the classroom teacher in the practical organisation of class activities and small group work. 

 Applicants will need: 

  • the ability to work with young people  
  • excellent communication skills 
  • self-motivation and a friendly manner 
  • a high standard of computer literacy and excellent organisational skills 
  • to be passionate about promoting learning and achievement for all 
  • the ability to work effectively as part of a team  
  • English and Maths GCSE grade C/4/NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
