Open Evening 2019-over 1000 visitors in school

Posted on: 17/09/2019

On Tuesday we opened our doors to over 1000 prospective students, parents, carers and family.

Visitors were encouraged to venture to every faculty in the school, following a competition trail around the site, with a prize at the end. Some families opted for a guided tour with one of our Year 11 prefects, others found their own route, sometimes guided by older siblings already at the school.

Every faculty put on amazing displays and interactive activities, supported by our brilliant students ambassadors. From exploding bubbles in Science, to robot making in Design Technology, battling with Captain Hook in English to WW2 in History, there was something for everyone to experience and enjoy.

Headteacher, Craig Martin, talked to prospective pupils and their families, concluding "I am proud to be Headteacher of what is a community school for the community of Redruth and beyond.  I am committed to this school for your son or daughter’s all round education and I make no excuses for being passionate and determined for them, as I would my own.  I look forward to working with you for the benefit of your children in the future."

We are offering tours of the school, giving you a chance to experience the excellent climate and learning atmosphere within the school. These run daily at 9am and 1.45pm with a member of the senior leadership team, until  Friday, 18 October. To book a place, please contact us on 01209 203700.
