Student Youth Council voting
Posted on: 13/02/2026During the first week of February, students had opportunity at school, to vote in the Cornwall Youth Council elections. Pupils were casting their votes for the young person they’d like to represent them in the Camborne and Redruth constituency. Most year groups have had a ballot box and papers delivered to them in tutor time, and Year 9 came to the polling station set up at school to have a full voting experience. In total there are 11 candidates running for election in the area, with 5 of them being pupils from Redruth School. This has been an excellent opportunity to teach our students about democracy and the importance of voting. We look forward to sharing the results in March!
