Restorative Justice

Posted on: 02/05/2023

A group of 12 Year 8 students completed the ‘Ripple Effect’ training program, run by RJ Working. The students engaged in 3 days of training which introduced the students to the principles of restorative practice, and how this can be used to solve problems and build fairer communities. Restorative practice is based on the principle of talking and listening to make things better, through a focus on respect, responsibility and relationships.
Over the 3 days, the students worked collaboratively to brainstorm, problem solve, share ideas and role play scenarios. The students developed their communication skills to learn how to become active listeners, hold restorative conversations, and share helpful feedback. The students did an amazing job and are looking forward to sharing what they have learnt with the wider school.
