A Level Results Day 2018

Redruth School are celebrating a fantastic set of results at A Level. Out of 98 A Level or equivalent exams taken the pass rate for the school is 99%. No less than 15 out of 16 subjects have achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate. The average grade for Maths A Level is A, the average grade for Art, Biology and Geography is B. In vocational subjects Sport average grade is Distinction / Merit with Science and Health & Social Care averaging a Merit.

 

Every student wishing to study at university has achieved a place with some notable achievements:

Chloe Henn – achieved A* A A and is studying Finance & Accounting at Exeter

Jodie Thomas – achieved A A B and is studying Communications Media at Bournemouth

Rosie McVey – achieved A A and is studying a Foundation degree in Art at Bristol

Eryn Jose – achieved A B B and is studying History at Royal Holloway 

Ross Cooper – achieved A B C and is studying History at Cardiff

Lewis Hicks – achieved A B C and is studying Finance & Accounting at Bristol

 

These grades for students in the Sixth Form ensure that this cohort achieved excellent progress from their GCSEs. Headteacher Craig Martin said “ I am delighted for this group of students who have achieved well, contributed enormously to the school’s success and now each and every one of them have the opportunity to pursue their ambitions and careers. We wish them well. “

Picture 4: Rosie McVey, Niamh Henbury-Marshall, Lauren Jenkin and Sophie James who have all achieved their first choice places at University. A special mention to Rosie McVey who attained two A grades in Art and Media.
Picture 5: Rhys Vandersluys - 6th Form Male President who achieved a D in History and a Distinction/Merit in his double award for Sport. Rhys is moving on to study Primary Education at Truro College
Picture 6: Lewis HIcks , Mr Robson and Chloe Henn - outstanding A-Level maths result with Lewis achieving an A and Chloe an A*. A very happy Mr Robson in the middle of the photo. Lewis also achieved a B in Geography and a C in History and will be going to study Business Management with Fiance and Accounting at Bristol. Chloe who achieved the highest mark possible in A-Level Maths also achieved an A in Sociology and a B in Biology and is moving to Exeter to study Finance and Accounting.
