DofE expedition

Posted on: 03/11/2023

At the start of half term, 17 Year 10 students set off on their final expedition to complete their bronze Duke of Edinburgh award. In wet and windy conditions, they set off in 3 separate groups, following route cards and cross-referencing to OS maps. Along the route they had to pass through a number of check points, and complete short projects along the route.

Several hours later they arrived at the campsite in very good spirits, especially considering the ‘character-building weather’! The groups set up tents and sleeping arrangements, then cooked their evening meals and settled down for the night.

Saturday morning, they were up early to prepare their breakfast before closing down the campsite, packing and then navigating back along the route, arriving back at school 5 hours later. All students passed with flying colours!
