Student exchange

Posted on: 27/03/2023

At the start of the week, our Mineral Point exchange students arrived safely with us, settled in, toured the school and met their host families. This trip was organised through the Mineral Point twinning committee, and Mineral Point Unified School District in partnership, who sent six students from Wisconsin, America to Redruth, their Mineral Point Cornish twin town. Jackson B, Marcus C, Julianna C, Ella J, Livie P, and Sophia S along with trip leader, Mr. Matt N and chaperone Mrs. Kipalee B all arrived safely on Cornish soil.

Over the course of the week, our guests toured our wonderful county and experienced all its delights. Some of the tour included visiting  St. Ives, Murdoch House and Heartlands, Lanhydrock, St Michael’s Mount, Lands End, Gwennap Pit, Eden Project, Charlestown Harbour, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Mevagissey, and Penzance.

Some of the activities they participated in included making Cornish pasty, skittles and swimming at Jubilee Pool. A fantastic experience and time was had by all.
