World Book Day 2020

Posted on: 05/03/2020

Students and staff celebrated all things literary in school today dressing up as favourite characters, decorating class doors in homage to well-loved books, taking part in quizzes and activities, a book sale, delicious cakes in the library and Y10 watched a live streamed performance of Macbeth.

The English department paid tribute in the darkest of fashion to gothic literature, while science celebrated the magic of Harry Potter. History decided to ride through the glen as Robin Hood and his merry men, and geography visited Wonderland with Alice.

There were so many different characters from our students including Mad Hatters, book fairies, Sherlock Holmes, Eeyores, Cats in Hats, Arthur Dent..the list goes on. Everyone took the time to create great costumes, and made a real effort.

Tutor groups were set the challenge of decorating their classroom door to reflect a favourite book. You can vote for the winner by liking your favourite door on our Facebook page; the winner will be announced on Friday. https://www.facebook.com/redruthschool1/

Thank you to everyone that took part.
