Posted on: 06/10/2021

Redruth School had a great day last Thursday in equipping students with knowledge and skills to support them in having healthy and happy lives now and into the future. Their PSHE drop down day involved each year group studying a different theme with their tutor: Diversity (Year 7), Health (Year 8, Managing Risk (Year 9), Relationships and Pressures (Year 10), and Aspirations and Successful Revision (Year 11). The school welcomed a large number of expert visitors who ran sessions on a variety topics, including First Aid, effective revision techniques and online safety. A very positive day was had and we look forward to the next event in 2022!
Feedback from the students included -

“I learned that emotional wellbeing is important and I found things that I can do to maintain good mental health” (Year 10 student).

“I think learning First Aid is really important because I might save someone’s life” (Year 8 student).

“I have learned about the impact of discrimination today. It has taught me to look through the eyes of someone different to me” (Year 7 student).
