School Governors

A message from Ross Williams, Chair of Governors          Ross Williams.jpg

For me Redruth School is first and foremost a local school, taking pupils from its surrounding primary schools and from all of its communities – nurturing them, showing them what they can achieve and giving them the tools to go out and take on the world.

Every year our students do just that – some go on to higher education and some go into employment, some stay in Cornwall and others go away – but whatever path they choose, we hope that the school has helped them to develop their talents to the full and that they’ll leave with good memories of their time here.

I’ve been involved with Redruth School in different ways over the years – as a pupil myself; as the father of three children who all went through the school and have done very well; as a community governor; and as a neighbour, working at Krowji just across the playing fields.  I’m always very happy to recommend the school to parents who are thinking about sending their children here because I have seen what Redruth School students can achieve.

We have a strong and supportive group of governors who play their part by giving a clear strategic direction, by holding the leadership of the school to account for standards and by overseeing the financial performance of the school.

We expect the best from our pupils, from our staff, and from everyone associated with our school – we all share a vision of Redruth School as a place which offers a great education to its pupils and plays an active part in our local communities.
