Primary STEM Day at Redruth School

Posted on: 03/10/2019

Today we held our annual primary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) day. Fifty Year 6 Mable (more able) students from local primaries spent the day looking at aspects of astronomy, visiting the planetarium then taking part in a range of workshops looking at lenses, making telescopes and programming with Arduinos to link to planet rovers.

The 180 Year 5 pupils were treated to a tour of the solar system and beyond in the Space Odyssey Planetarium.

In the afternoon, some of our Year 7 and 8 Mable students were able to look at how we are searching for planets that could potentially be home to life far beyond our solar system.
